Solar Pond
It is a natural and artificial pond which collects and absorbs solar radiation energy and stores the heat inside itself.
Insulating material is used in its lower part to minimize the heat base. Its cover is made of transparent fiber glass which gives maximum amount of solar radiation to the absorbing material.
method of operation
To generate electricity by this method, take a solar pond as shown in the diagram. Take salted water inside it and heat it with solar heat. In the solar pond, its temperature rises from 60 deg * C to 70 deg * C. The hot water from 60 deg * C to 70 deg * C is brought to the evaporator boiler.
In the boiler, this hot water is converted into organic fluid (whose boiling point is 60 deg * C to 70 deg * C) vapor. This steam is further sent to the turbine.
The turbine starts rotating with this steam due to which the generator coupling with it also runs and here electrical output is obtained from the generator. The steam coming out of the turbine is sent to the condenser.
From the condenser, this heat is sent to the steam cooling tower to cool down. Here it cools down and then it is pumped and sent back to the condenser and from the condenser, it is pumped again and sent to the evaporator to become steam.
