Pulse transformer –
This transformer which transfers voltage and current in the form of pulses is called a pulse transformer. It is used in radar, television, digital computers and thyristor systems.
These are of two types-
(i) Power pulse transformer
(ii) Signal pulse transformer
Functions of Pulse Transformer
(i) Changing the amplitude of the voltage pulse.
(ii) to change the polarity of the pulse,
(iii) To effect DC isolation between the source and load.
(iv) For coupling different stages of a pulse amplifier.
